Peggy's Playground vol.12

Peggy's Playground

I'm comin' in hot with an even 🔥 hotter 🔥 brag. For the first time, I fully completed a challenge. That's right—out of allllll the challenges I've joined or hosted, I’ve never actually finished every single prompt… until now. 🏆 #Bloomtober2024 for the win!

I have an ulterior motive in bragging. If you're hesitating with thoughts like, “I shouldn't start because I might not finish…” trust me, I get it. I’ve been doing challenges for a while, and here’s the truth: most of us don’t have the time or energy for everything. But success doesn’t have to mean a perfect 100% completion. Success (in this sense) is about giving yourself the chance to spend time doing what you love. If that means drawing just three more days this month than usual, that's a huge W (W for win—you’re the winner, that’s you).

spare time creations

I have been deeeeep into creating some staple Procreate brush sets because I get so irked when things don't work the way I want them to. And you know me… I can't help but jump in with an “I'll do it! I'll put on that hat and learn the thing and do the thing and then love the thing so much that I'll share about it and then even teach about it” haha.. and I should mention that no, I don't have an upcoming class on this (yet?), but I am very excited to share these delicious packs with you. Cuz I mean, look at the dimension in these flowers 😍

I was testing some of my paint-quality Procreate brushes yesterday and drew this and I'm so pleased with the outcome. AND we'll draw this autumn arrangement 👆 in an upcoming workshop in November!

I love it when I find a good ware. From essentials to splurges, these are my picks for wares this month…
  • I was over my computer chair not rolling well. The rug in here is thin so there's no reason for this nonsense. But rather than replace a perfectly good chair, I swapped out the wheels for these heavy duty noise-free beasts. I mean, a moment of brilliance? I'd say so. It now feels like I'm gliding on air.
  • I randomly had some eyeballs notice this zipper bag in an image in one of my emails, and I think we all need one because it really is that good.

  • I've talked about how I have the driest lips on the planet, and I've got my favorite lip products, for sure. However, I realized I've never shared this gem, and I think it's because it's not always top of mind, but it's the most hydrating tinted lip balm I've used (Flow is my fav shade).

I have loved buttercups since I was a kid. Something about them just gives me a wholesome feeling. When I assembled this year's #bloomtober2024 prompts, I learned that its scientific name translates to “little frog” in Latin.
As if the buttercup can get any cuter!!

If I don't include this in here, I'd be doing my excitement a disservice.

Remember that thing I said about giving ourselves dedicated time for creativity? This might be one of the most – if not the most – fun ways to do just that.

personal musings

  1. I have a monthly slot at my local news station where I share a DIY project. I don't make this task easy on myself 😆 because I could certainly pull from my dozens of projects already in existence, but noooOooOOOoo. I have to use it as an oppotunity to try something NEW. And I LOVE these watercolor paper pumpkins sooo much, that you might have noticed me mention it in the last volume because I also released it as a class for just $1.00! Yes, I did in fact film and edit an entire class because I'm extra 🤪

  2. We're always so sad leaving Jim our senior dog at home, especially because we don't know his history and he gets so worked up when we leave, even if it's just one of us! He doesn't bark and he's so chill that I decided to buy a relatively incognito, low profile stroller for him so we could be oh so sneaky. He's loving getting to go places with us. We just pop the top down so he's in his shaded pod and

  3. Concluding with a loop back to my brag that I kicked off with. Just loooook at that finished challenge 🥳 I've hit my peak, I don't know where to go from here 🤣

Anddd that's a wrap on October's playground. Don't forget to register for Sketchbook Bootcamp! See you in a few days!
