Mindful creative rituals
So you can sette into your creative space before you pick up a brush (the part most people skip and then wonder why starting feels hard).
The blank page isn't the problem. The pressure is.
This is the watercolor class for every time you sit down, stare at the paper, and get up to make tea instead. Four guided watercolor exercises that replace the pressure to make "something good" with the curiosity to see what happens. Spoiler: what happens is usually pretty great.
What's inside the class
Each exercise works the same way: I walk you through a prompt, show you how I approach it, and you make it your own version alongside me. There's no wrong version. The whole point is to follow the paint somewhere unexpected.
So you can sette into your creative space before you pick up a brush (the part most people skip and then wonder why starting feels hard).
Learn how pigments actually behave with water, so you stop fighting the medium and start working with it to create beautifully unexpected effects.
The experience of releasing perfectionism and the need for control and seeing what watercolor does when you give it a little room.
Look what you're making
Peggy does a great job of disarming the learner and giving permission to experiment in these lessons. She has a way of removing the intimidation, helping the learner feel capable to execute the assignment. This is a great class to play and just let the water and paint do what they do.
This is just what I have been looking for, something to get started again with watercolor. This was a great class to experiment and not get stuck.
With so much knowledge out there about watercolours, I find it’s too easy to overthink and get caught up in the technicalities of the process and stop painting. Thank you Peggy for reminding me that it is also a medium that invites play and spontaneous experimentation.
I loved these projects, simple but so very helpful with getting back to creating again. I haven't been creating for almost 4 years, but this was just what I needed.
I am enjoying this so much, I am just taking my own time and using this as therapy for a fractured life. Thank you so much. I believe in angels, and you are one of mine.
hey I'm Peggy
I made this class because the blank page problem is REAL. Even after a decade of making art professionally, I still have days where the paper feels like it's staring back at me.
These four exercises are what I actually do when that happens. Not to make something good, just to make something for the sake or making. And somewhere in the making, the block dissolves. Every time. I wanted to hand that experience to as many people as possible.
Create with intention
Nope, genuinely. The exercises are designed to work with whatever level of watercolor experience you have. If you've never picked up a brush, this is a warm and forgiving place to start. If you've been painting for years and just feel stuck, it works for that too.
The class includes a supplies guide, but honestly you can use whatever you have. I go over a lot of color mixing goodness so a few watercolors and a few round brushes will get you there!
Just under an hour! Each lesson is bite-sized and designed to be completed in a single sitting.
You'll enjoy lifetime access to the course so you can learn at your own pace and revisit the content whenever you need a refresher.
