The saddest thing happened… I had drafted this month's Playground volume and had all the stories to share, and the draft just DISAPPEARED. Vanished. Disappeared without a trace. So here I am, delivering my Feb recap Playground nearly halfway into March (an exaggeration, I know), but I'm here, nonetheless!

I didn't have a ton of creating time during February travels, but I will say that as soon as we got home and settled back in, my sewing projects recommenced with these cutie little pouches.

- When I tell you that I ordered 8 different seat pads to test… I was so adamant to find pressure relief that I tried a plethora of styles--inflatable, gel, memory foam… and without question, this seat cushion with individual air pockets is the best friend that I never knew I needed to accompany me on any flight over 3 hours (or in my case, sitting at all with coccyx injury!). It packs down well and I'll travel with it for many trips to come. Laura even snagged one for herself!
- If you don't want to touch the nasty tray table, this sleeve fully slides over it and has pockets, and lets you stow it up without removing it. I got it early last year for a flight to the Philippines and it's been a welcomed companion for all flights since.
- I'm a white noise person when I sleep. Specifically with a fan. I also like a breeze on the bod. I've had this tiny fan for years and it's never let me down. It's rechargeable (it doesn't last the whole night but it gets you to sleep, OR you can plug it in (USB) and let it whirr all night long). I have the green one!
Alternatively (aka when I forget to pack said fan), I use the free version of the BetterSleep app. It's super customizable. My combo of sounds is a little strange, but if you want to give it a go, I discovered that I can share a preview of my personal sound settings without you needing to sign up (I find this more than amusing haha). So here are my personal settings if you're interested 😴

Koalas sleep for up to 20 hours a day!

During our trip, this sweet angel was sleeping right outside. His name is Mateo, of course 🐨

I have been absolutely loving getting to spend time with so many of you during our live workshops every month. Seeing your work is a huge bonus! So much so that I just had to share some eye candy spreads from my online classes and live workshops:
Kelly has been making ALL THE FLORAL LINE DRAWING SPREADS and it's lighting me up each and every time I get to see them. She told me she hasn't even gone through the entire class (Blooming Lines) yet because she can't stop drawing. Can we agree that she needs to keep drawing florals for everything?! These are just toooo pretty!

Noelle shared her work from last week's live workshop on painting florals from real life with watercolors, and something about these blooming stalks just stole my flower-obsessed heart!

- Koalas everywhere on Kangaroo Island (that's the actual name of the island, and yes, so many kangaroos, too). But the koalas are just too cute. Every ten trees we'd pass, a koala would be up in one enjoying the breeze and a good, long snooze.
- I told the woman at the night market in Melbourne to do henna of whatever she wanted. Also, every single city in Australia makes a delicious chai latte. How is EVERY single one good?!
- Adventure fun with Laura! Just a snapshot during our trip 😍
Whew, ok, rewrite complete. Thank you for being here and I can't wait to see what this month has in store (even though we're already “half way” through it 😉
