Pack for an Art Retreat With Me

The time is here! I'm going on a month-long international trip - and an art retreat that I will be teaching (pinch me!), and while I would love to bring my whole studio with me, instead I am going to condense my supplies to as few as possible while getting the most out of each and every one of them. Here's how (psst - my full supply list is at the end of this post).

Here's a little tip for packing your supplies to go - every inch matters if you want to make your luggage or carry-on bag light, and have room left over for other essentials. There are some rules that I go by all the time when travelling:

- instead of a whole box of colored pencils, markers and pens, pick and choose a few colors you always gravitate towards - and don't forget to bring a small sharpener AND sharpen all of your pencils before you go

- consider where you're going and what you'll be doing; this will help you pick the correct type of medium to bring (dry vs wet) and avoid getting frustrated

- think of how you can protect your more fragile supplies (like crayons) so that when you get to your destination and open your bag, you're not faced with broken pencils and leaking markers
