Student love
From watercolor looseness to gouache color play, these students found their way into paint one class at a time.
Thank you for this awesome class! You taught me so much more than ’just’ painting watercolor vintage flowers. Over the course of the class I learned to let go time and again, to trust myself more, to start over without feeling bad about it; and, finally, I actually was content with what I made following your prompts. This has been the first time I’ve painted flowers, but I’ll definitely keep going from here.
I have really found an inspiring outlet for creativity in these folks flowers. I keep making them for my friends with custom color palettes based on my interpretation of their personalities. What a great class!!!
As I expect from Peggy's classes, I learned something fun and super gratifying in one short sitting. The polaroids were a fun break from the standard paper canvas. I want to take this idea and paint a million tiny landscapes!
This class was so much fun! Peggy's instruction was very clear, but there was plenty of room for using our own ideas and creativity. I can see myself filling up whole sketchbooks using this class.
This class is really fun. It pushed me to try new things and I love that. I'm a beginner with watercolor and I didn't feel like this class was too advanced. It got me to try new techniques and forced me to loosen up a bit and just go with the flow.
Peggy possesses a rare combination of being an exceptional professional and a talented teacher. She has the ability to simplify complicated subjects and present them in a clear and concise manner. I have taken numerous courses, but hers stand out as the best.
Excellent class. Learned much about folk art, and sketching. I loved the sketching part, because I find that the hardest. Really interesting stuff about color palettes as well.
I’m so glad I took this class! Loosening up is really hard for me, so these exercises were just right! Plenty of beautiful little bite size pieces that help you learn to loosen your grip and go with the flow. The muted “vintage” color palettes are lovely and it was fun to experiment with my own paints to create these tones. Peggy does a wonderful job demonstrating her technique making it easy to follow along. Her fun personality shines throughout the class. Highly recommend!
Class was so clear and helpful to me. I learned so much about color and pattern and putting it all together. So much fun!
Practice makes progress. I'm so happy with this little polaroid from Peggy's class. It might have been the first time that I actually painted along, and I'm proud of trying something new.
Wow...just wow! I'm absolutely blown away by Peggy Dean! I love the earthy vintage style and clear instructions. This is exactly what I've been looking for.
I'd always felt shy about creating folk art but this class gave me so much confidence in this! I found the painting very therapeutic and the class provided me with ways to source inspiration on pinterest!
hey I'm Peggy
A lot of painting tutorials teach you to copy.. how to follow along, make what the instructor made, and hope something sticks. I'm more interested in teaching you what's actually happening... why the paint behaves the way it does, when to stop, how to read your painting and make decisions. Because once you understand that, you can take any subject and make it yours.
